Alex is a Senior Partner in McKinsey’s London office. He leads the TLI practice in the UK and Ireland and heads McKinsey’s global Airline and Aviation practice, an area of passion and interest that is reflected in his client work.
In his 20 years at McKinsey, Alex has been at the centre of some of the most successful transformations of Airlines, Airline service companies, Aerospace companies and Government Agencies across the globe.
Relevant experience:
Led a multi-year effort to transform a small, Latin American airline into a global champion and one of the most valuable airlines in the world
Led Aviation regulatory strategies in four countries, aimed at aligning government officials on the objectives for the sector and driving changes in infrastructure, regulatory structure and governance
Led the successful restructuring of a two large US Major Airlines, each now among the most valuable airlines in the world
Worked with the top team of a Major Asian carrier on a multi-year strategy to defend against low cost competition
Worked with multiple Private Equity firms on investment strategies in Aviation infrastructure, technology and services provider
Education / Background
Prior to McKinsey, Alex was a Pilot and Instructor (line Check Airman) at Continental Airlines
Alex holds a B.S. in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and an MBA, with Distinction, from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College
Alex holds FAA ATP, and Flight Engineer (Turbojet) certificates and has over 6,000 hrsof Flying Experience as part 121 Captain, First Officer and Flight Engineer
